I just finished making a Maid Marian outfit for my three-year old Boston niece to play “dress-up” in. She is enamored of the cartoon version of the Robin Hood story, in which Maid Marian is a lovely lady fox who wears a lavender gown and headscarf, or is that a wimple? I used a pattern for a girl’s dress from waaaaay back when my daughters were flower girls in my brother’s wedding, and adapted it, changing to a V-neck and making the back a wrap-around apron-tie style. It’s reversible, so she can be Maid Marian today, and a flower fairy tomorrow.
